Dinner with the Crowe Family

When I go to D.C., for work, I ensure I take the time to visit the Crowe Family. Patty Crowe is a wonderful person who I worked with while being stationed in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. Over the years, she retired from the Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer and as for me I am continuing my career in the Navy. Patty has been a great mentor while I was stationed with her and until this day, she still is. Over the time while being stationed together, her family took me in as their own and I became part of her family. Every time I go to her house, it is feels like “Home Sweet Home”.

Nichole thank you for all the laughs.

Jeffrey and Jeff it was great hanging out with ya.

The Crowe Family we have to do this again next year. Patty, Jeff, Jeffrey and Nichole thank you for the dinner. One thing about Patty and Jeff is they are pretty cool and young at heart. Miss ya very much.

Washington, D.C. Trip

In the end of March, I went to Washington, D. C. for a day leadership seminar for work. It was three days long and full of information. The first day was best day because we (Kim, myself, and Melissa) went to sight see. We all decided to go to downtown D.C. and so we went to the museum and afterwards we had dinner. In addition, it was perfect because the Japanese Blossoms were at “their peek” for blossoming. The air was very fragrant and it was beautiful.

We rode the metro, which was a little scary at first but interesting just seeing the people in how they dress and keep to themselves. It is very different because down South we are very friendly and talk to everybody. I would smile at them and I would get no response. So I figured they are not very happy people. I wonder if they are thinking of other things besides not wanting to be there…who knows.

Also I got to see the Capitol, which was very beautiful. It was my first time seen it besides on television. When I move to Virginia in the fall, I want to make it an opportunity go to D.C. I will take a couple of days instead of one day to sightsee. We went to the Smithsonian Museum, which has the dinosaurs, Hope Diamond, and many more exhibits, it was all fascinating.

After we went to the museum and walked a couple of blocks, we ended up in China town. As for the girls, they did not care too much for Asian food so instead we at Ruby’s Tuesday. The food and the service was great. Then rode the metro back to the hotel, which we somewhat almost got lost, but we did find our way back safe and sound.
